For The Anxious Pup:
Some dogs may feel nervous or have difficulty tolerating a dental cleaning. If this sounds like your pup, we recommend speaking with your veterinarian before your appointment.
Your veterinarian can help determine the best option for your dog, whether that's recommending an alternative to an anesthesia-free dental cleaning, suggesting a natural calming supplement, or prescribing a medication such as Trazodone, Gabapentin, or Fluoxetine to help your dog stay calm and comfortable. If your dog is prescribed a calming product, be sure to ask your veterinarian when it should be given so it's effective before your appointment.
Interested in a natural option? Tomlinson's knowledgeable team is happy to help you choose an over-the-counter calming product that's the best fit for your dog's needs.
If your dog becomes too anxious to safely continue the dental cleaning, the vet may need to stop the procedure before it is completed. In that case, you will not be charged the vet's dental cleaning fee, and your booking fee will be refunded. It is highly recommended to provide a calming aid beforehand to help make the experience safer, more comfortable, and less stressful for everyone.

Anesthesia-free teeth cleaning is Team Tomlinson’s preferred choice for our own dogs.
These cleanings are:

Performed by Scott Blanchard and his team of licensed vets at Canine Dental Services, these drug-free cleanings are done using hand tools only.
Scott holds the dog in his lap while talking to him in a soothing, reassuring manner. His technique is gentle, thorough and completely drug-free. The cleaning itself takes about 20 minutes.
Please note that anesthesia-free dental cleanings are intended as a routine surface cleaning only and are not a substitute for extensive dental procedures.
Your dog will first have a brief wellness exam by a licensed veterinarian, and if more extensive oral care is needed such as extractions or treatment for gum disease, you will be referred to your vet for further treatment.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
The total cost is around $245 per dog.
We'll collect a $40 booking fee for each appointment.
At the time of your appointment, CDS charges $200 + a processing fee if paid by card. CDS offers a $10 discount for cash payment.
